It is with great sadness the PLCOA is saying goodbye to a friend and committee member - Shelley Carey. She was an invaluable member of our committee spending countless hours organizing and planning for this Community. She will be greatly missed and impossible to replace. Even though she will be absent in body, we know that she will be at our meetings in spirit making sure we get things done right!

In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored if donations could be made to the “Shelley Carey Trust Fund” c/o TD Canada Trust, City Centre Mall, 300 Mystery Lake Road, Thompson, MB R8N 0M2. Donations will be used to purchase extra items to increase patient comfort and care in the new Chemotherapy Unit at the hospital as Shelley was determined to see this project move forward.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Riverlodge Place, 351 Jasper Dr.

TO ALL COTTAGE OWNERS - - - Invoices were mailed out in April. To date, 148 levies have been paid. Some people paid online and have a credit in their Crown Lands lease account and need to ask for it to be transferred to the Fire Hall Levy account.
Some people have just not paid. Maybe they have forgotten to, and others may have paid on line too, but if their lease account isn't up to date, the money stays towards their annual lease fee.
However, the PLCOA & PLVFD have worked through volunteering hundreds of hours to build the Fire Hall extension. We still have an outstanding loan amount of $80,000 to pay, and we need EVERYONE to pay their share. How do we encourage non-payers to pay?? We would like to hear your thoughts.
Anyone wanting to know if they are in arrears can call Shelley Carey @ 677-2560 or e-mail sm_carey1@yahoo.com
Talk to your neighbors and ask them if they have paid. If you haven't paid, WHY NOT? We would like to know.

As many of you may know Bill Bowman is leaving us and the PLCOA would like to thank him for all his hard work at the Transfer Station!

With Bill leaving us that has left us in great need of filling the positions of a casual Lead Attendant for helping out Barry ($16/hour) and two Base attendants ($12/hour). Must be 16 years or older.

Last Sunday we almost didn't find anyone to run the station and if this continues we may be looking at reduced hours or closing the station on days when we can't find anyone to run it!  Thanks to Ron Carey for stepping up last Sunday!

Please ask around and hopefully we can get these positions filled soon. Contact Troy Steeves at troysteeves11@gmail.com or his cell at 204-677-3515 if your interested. If you have any questions you can also get a hold of the committee at paintlakecommunity@gmail.com

If your also willing to help out by taking a load to the Recycle Center in Thompson please contact Troy.
