    Hi Paint Lake Community,

    If you haven't received a email notice about your $10 membership fee being due this year please email: paintlakecommunity@gmail.com with your name, physical address, phone number and current email address.  I will get you added to the billing system and also get you added to our distribution list.   

    You can pay your membership fees via paypal thru the invoice system or drop off $10 dollars to any PLCOA board members. You can also send a cheque in the mail to our mail box at Box 520, Thompson, MB R8N 1M9. Please don't forgot to include the above information so we can keep accurate records. 

    We really appreciate your membership fee as it helps to keep this website and communications going to the community. Please spread the word that the membership fee is due to your neighbours and friends at own a place at the lake. 

    If you have any comments or concerns please direct them to the included email address or discuss them with a board member.

    A big thank you to everyone that came out to the fishing derby and helped donate their time to get this setup and running smoothly for this awesome event!  This helped raise $1625 for the Paint Lake Community.  

    The big winners were:

    1st Place was David Landriault who took home $893.25

    2nd Place was Scott Baillargeon  who took home $438.75

    3rd Place was Robert Caldwell who took home $260.00

    50/50 draw winner was Les Hanson with $197 dollars in winners 
    Hope to see everyone out again for the next community event. It's nice to meet your northern neighbours in the community and surrounding areas.  


    Invite your friends for next year's derby and lets keeping growing this fundraiser so it can get bigger and more awesome!!!

    The Annual Paint Lake Ice Fishing Derby will be held at Paint Lake Provincial Park on March 18th on the ice in front of the Marina.  

    Registration starts at 10am at the Paint Lake Lodge. Derby begins @ 12pm till 3pm.

    Early Bird tickets are $50 per person per hole. On the day of the cost will be $75 per person per hole.  Kids 12 and under are $30. 

    Tickets will be available at the following locations:

    M&M Food Market

    Rick's Marine

    Northland Tire

    Crazy Pete's Trading Post

    Nickel City Motors

    Paint Lake Lodge


    Payout is 50% of purse.

    1st place is 55% Max $5000

    2nd place is 27% Max of $2500

    3rd place is 16% Max of $1500

    Door prizes, children prizes and 50/50 draw are planned. 

    Come out and enjoy the winter with fun fishing, beautiful landscapes and great people!!! We hope to see you there!

    Due to lack of interest the PLCOA has canceled the rubber boat fundraising social on November 5th. For people who did support the social please see the PLCOA member or vendor you purchased your tickets from for a refund.

    Big thanks to everyone who took the time to organize this event. We will be looking at planning something in the new year so stay tuned on the website www.paintlakecommunity.ca

    The Transfer Station will be changing to winter hours shortly. September 14th/16 will be the last Wednesday for the season.  The winter hours will be Saturday/Sunday from 10am - 3:45pm. 

    Also a reminder that if you haven't paid your levy fees please do so.  Not paying is only hurting your community and yourself. This levy fee goes to ensure that we are properly equipped to fight fires and respond to emergencies in the park by having a proper facility to do so. This is standard for every community across the province. Please show your community you support having a fire fighter group and pay your levy fees!!!

    FYI - You get the money back with your discount on your home insurance by having a proper fire hall located in the park anyways!!!  I.E. Without the fire hall you would be spending more on your house insurance!

    A reminder that you will be seeing your Membership Dues and this year's 2016 Levi Fees coming out soon. 

    For your membership dues ($10) if you don't want to pay online with paypal you can drop your payment off to Troy Steeves (204-679-3515) or we have a mail box (Box 520 Thompson R8N 1M9 - this can also be found on our website under the PLCOA Heading). 

    For your Levi Fee please make sure to read the instructions correctly and don't make an Internet banking payment to Manitoba Parks as this is being collected by the committee. You can mail your payment to the included address, get a hold of Troy to drop off your payment at the number listed above or drop a payment off at the Parks office in Thompson.

    With people leaving the committee there are open positions on the board that need to be filled (Secretary, Vice President and Members at Large).  With these vacant positions being left open, it puts more strain on the few of us that are left on the committee. 

    If you can donate a small part of your time each month and want to make a difference in your community please get a hold of Troy Steeves (679-3515 email: troysteeves11@gmail.com) or email myself at paintlakecommunity@gmail.com and I'll pass it along. 

    This committee is run by volunteers so hopefully we get more interest than in the past and keep this community alive and vibrant. Please volunteer today!!!!!
