    With regret the PLCOA is cancelling it's subscription for this website and will stop working on Oct.12th.  The cost to maintain this website has increased each year and with the revenue loss of the transfer station, we can no longer afford to keep the website.  

    All information will be attempted to be moved over to the Paint Lake Connections Facebook group site in the immediate future. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    To all cabin owners:

    As of June 6, 2018 The Paint Lake Cottage Owners Association will no longer be operating the transfer station.

    We bid on the contact for another three year period which was verbally approved, only to be told this week, that due to Government cut backs we no longer had our bid at the agreed upon price.  This agreed upon price was only possible with the help of the Paint Lake Cottage Owners volunteering their time and resources.  With this in mind it is no longer feasible for the Paint Lake Cottage Owners Association to operate the transfer station at the new price, which would incur financial hardship to our association.

    With regret the PLCOA is announcing at the start of December that the transfer station won't be taking glass recycling anymore. Your glass will now have to be dumped into the regular waste disposal bins. 

    Talks with the city and the businesses in Thompson unfortunately led us to this decision.  

    We apologize in advance on any inconvenience this may cause.

    The PLCOA is trying to get some work done at the Redman park walking trail on August 26th (Saturday) at Noon. We would like to get the trail cleared of debris and hopefully get some base to put down around the trail.  The thought would be then to have a BBQ at the Community hall for supper and drinks afterwards.

    If your interested and able to help out please get in contact with Troy Steeves: troysteeves11@gmail.com / 204-679-3515 or Stephen Barlow: paintlakecommunitty@gmail.com / 204-573-9414 and leave your contact information with us.  We need to get a confirmation of numbers so that we can arrange enough food and tasks for the day.  A list of any equipment/tools that you might have would be handy as well. 

    This park is our home and it says a lot about the community on how the upkeep of the area is kept. If this is successful we would like to arrange other work projects to tackle around the park in the future.

    Just a friendly reminder to keep your dog on a leash or fenced in when in your yard. The PLCOA has received some complaints about loose dogs running out on the road while others are walking by.

    Big thanks for everyone that attended the AGM this year. There was a lot of good conversation and thoughts brought forward from the community. We are still actively looking for new board members and if your interested please get in contact with a current board member or send an email to paintlakecommunity@gmail.com.

    Big thanks to everyone that has paid their $200 levy fees (totaling $600 dollars over the 3 years) from the past and present years. This money went to building the awesome fire hall to better serve the community and has been very useful the last few years when emergencies arouse right here at Paint Lake. 

    If you haven't paid, you have to send your cheque via mail to the Minister of Finance (200 Salteaux Cres, Box 51, Wpg, MB, R3J 3W3 and not to the place where you pay your land tax (Crown Lands and Property Agency).  

    You can also drop off a payment at the next AGM or to a board member if you wish. I also believe the Parks office in Thompson will take the payment. Just be sure to bring your remittance stub. 

     For those of you who haven't paid the last three years we would like to know why. You can either contact a board member directly, discuss in the AGM or send us an email: paintlakecommunity@gmail.com. This money has gone directly to providing the fire hall building portion that was needed in the community and also helped reduce your annual insurance premium. 

    Unfortunately if we don't have the money by the end of the summer the committee will be looking at escalating this matter and collection process.
